Liana Figgins is a freelance makeup artist based in the Denver area.  She began her makeup career in 2007 at an Aveda salon in Arvada, Colorado.  Working directly with salon clients to update their everyday looks, as well as creating special occasion looks for proms and weddings sparked her passion for makeup artistry.  Liana trained with with Aveda’s key makeup artist, Rudy Miles, at the Denver Academy of Makeup in 2008, during which time she learned to translate her talent for everyday makeup into fashion and conceptual makeup for photography.

She then moved to Los Angeles, California to attend college at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and continued to work as a freelance artist while developing her skills in trend research and translation into fashion design.  After graduating from FIDM with and Associate of the Arts in Merchandise Product Development in 2010, Liana moved back to Colorado in order to continue her education at the University of Colorado at Boulder; she is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in Communication.

Since returning to Colorado, Liana has continued her training in makeup artistry as an intern with makeup by janine and she was quickly promoted to associate artist.  As an associate artist, she enjoys consultations and applications with many women and brides, as well as editorial and commercial photo shoots.  Liana has worked as a makeup artist at Wilhelmina Denver, where she was responsible for the design and execution of makeup looks for agency development shoots including fashion, beauty, and commercial photography.  She also works as a beauty ambassador at a Bare Escentuals boutique in Broomfield where she educates clients on the application of everyday and special occasion makeup.

With experience in both everyday makeup and makeup for photography, Liana is able to provide makeup looks that are just as beautiful in person as they are in photographs.  Her passion for the fashion industry also ensures that she is knowledgeable about current trends in makeup, as well as new techniques and products.  Her philosophy is that makeup should enhance each client’s unique features as well as help them recognize their own natural beauty.
